DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us at our Autumn Fête on Sunday October 6th from 12pm to 5pm\, where age becomes irrelevant and intergenerational bonds are formed amidst our shared heritage. \nEvents Programme: \n  \n12pm: Autumn in The Garden Tour with General Manager John O’Driscoll \n*Limited Capacity\, registration in advance advised by calling our Visitor Services Reception on 0719633013* \n1pm: Autumnal Ecotherapy Walk with Marianne Fallon [Chartered Health Psychologist and Ecotherapist] \n*Limited Capacity\, registration in advance advised by calling our Visitor Services Reception on 0719633013* \nJoin Marianne\, for another Woodland Wellbeing Walk during our Autumn Fête. \nMarianne will guide you through a number of meditations amongst the trees reflecting on themes inspired by this liminal time between the Autumn Equinox and Samhain.  This is a time of letting go after the gathering of the Harvest during Lughnasa. \nAn introduction to Dan Tian Meditation & Breathwork and reflections from Buddhist Psychology will form part of the walk. \nBe prepared to be on your feet walking or standing for approx one hour. Wear clothing suitable for the expected weather and good walking shoes with good grips. \n1pm – 3pm: Live Music with Black Bank Folk\, Venue Vaulted Stables Courtyard. \nThe band bring together a plethora of musical influences from Indie rock and Americana to Irish folk and traditional. Something for all tastes! \n3pm: Strokestown House Gallery Kitchen Interpretation Tour with General Manager John O’Driscoll \n*Limited Capacity\, registration in advance advised by calling our Visitor Services Reception on 0719633013* \n__________________________________________ \nAll day events: \n  \nScarecrow Making – Walled Garden’s  \nJoin our volunteers in the Walled Garden’s to Make & Name A Scarecrow\, who will call our Garden its home for the Autumn. This is a drop in activity that will run throughout the day. DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us on Friday 28th February for an intimate evening of music and songs in our Woodland Café with renowned folk singer and balladeer George Murphy\, who will be accompanied by fiddle player Sean Regan. \nGeorge Murphy exploded onto the Irish music scene after his memorable appearances on the Irish television show “You’re a Star”. Just out of secondary school at the age of 17 he very quickly took over the Irish music scene\, signing to Sony Ireland for his debut album ‘Dreamed A Dream’ which went straight to No.1 in the Irish charts. His unique and emotive voice captured the nation and still does. \nGeorge will be accompanied by the prolific fiddle player Sean Regan who has toured the world with iconic Irish musicians such as Sharon Shannon\, Finbar Furey\, Damien Dempsey\, Sean Keane\, Sinead O’Connor\, Daniel O’Donnell and many more. \nDoors to this event open at 7.30pm.
