SUMMARY:After Dark House Tour
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin Strokestown Park General Manager\, John O’Driscoll\, on Sunday 1st November\, for our “After Dark House Tour”\, to hear the untold stories of Strokestown Park House and it’s inhabitants. \nThe date of this event is particularly poignant as it falls on the eve of the 179th anniversary of the assassination of Major Denis Mahon\, landlord of the Strokestown estate at the height of the Great Irish Famine. \nHear the stories surrounding his assassination and visit his final resting place in the Strokestown Park Mausoleum\, which was constructed within an earlier 17th century church and contains a crypt in which members of the Mahon Family were buried. \nThis event is not for the faint hearted and will involve a tour through Strokestown Park House by candlelight. \nWill you be brave enough to visit parts of Strokestown Park that even the staff would not dare enter after dark? \n___________________________ \nEvent Information \nStart Time: 7pm \nVenue: Strokestown House \nTickets: €25.00 per person plus booking fee. \nMembers Ticket: €22.00 per person plus booking fee. \n___________________________ \nLimited Spaces Available \nSuitable for persons 16yrs + \nThis event is NOT wheelchair accessible \nPart of this event is outdoors\, dress appropriately. \nPlease arrive 10 minutes before your tour \nParking available at the front of Strokestown House

SUMMARY:Victorian Christmas Experience 2026
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Victorian Christmas Experience returns to the historic surroundings of Strokestown Park\, Co. Roscommon\, where the traditional charm and luxury of this era is reimagined\, in an immersive\, magical\, fun and interactive experience for all ages. \n  \n \nHands down the best Santa experience we have been to in 13 years. Thank you for a really lovely experience at Strokestown Park House.\nI found the staff were so kind and it was an enjoyable experience – it absolutely exceeded my expectations. Mrs. Claus was without a doubt\, the highlight of the experience. Her warmth\, tenderness\, genuine kindness and unhurried pace of communication drew in every child. This was our third year back and loved it! The whole experience is so wholesome and lovely! I loved the improvements and changes you have made from other years\, like giving the child the option to pick out the book and personalised notes read from Santa are so special. We were blown away with the experience. All the actors\, the facilities\, gift\, games\, cafe- couldn’t fault it. 10/10 Thanks very much to the team. It was AMAZING from start to finish. The elves\, Mrs Claus\, Santa… absolutely brilliant. Our 3 year old absolutely loved it. Well done to all involved. We will be returning next year. Fantastic experience The elves were high energy\, enthusiastic and great fun! This is our third year to visit Santa in Strokestown Park House. We had a very magical time. The event was very well planned\, the elves\, Santa and Mrs. Claus were all very friendly. My son had a great time playing the old games with the very friendly elf in the games room\, while my daughter enjoyed colouring in. Thank you for a lovely visit to your Victorian Christmas – everyone went above and beyond to make it magical ! The event totally exceeded our expectations. The experience was wholesome and authentic\, and didn’t feel commercial at all (as many Christmas experiences can). The staff and the elves were warm and engaging. The kids loved helping Mrs. Claus bake. As the group visited Santa together\, they got to spend plenty of time with him\, and the kids were amazed he knew something about each of them. I would highly recommend the Victorian Christmas Experience to any family looking for an authentic and thoughtfully put together Santa experience. It felt special\, immersive\, and genuinely festive. Can’t wait to go back again. \nDiscount available for Irish Heritage Trust Members\, please contact us at events@irishheritagetrust.ie to receive your discount code.  \nProfessional Family Photo\nThere is an option to book a professional family photo with Santa\, as an add on to your booking. \nThis photo option relates to one festive photo backdrop scene. \nThis photo option can be pre booked online or purchased on the day\, along with some other quality festive mementos of the day. \nFor further information contact (071) 96 33013 or email events@strokestownpark.ie. \n__________________________________________ \n**Please note that all bookings for this event are non-refundable.
