Step into the heart of Strokestown Park, home to the National Famine Museum, and immerse yourself in the harrowing period of the 1840s during the Great Irish Famine.
In this interactive experience, you are among the fortunate few granted an audience with some very important figures. To meet them, you must complete a crucial task reflective of the era’s hardships. Failure might see you performing arduous chores such as cleaning the tenants’ quarters, crushing grapes by hand in the estate’s wine press, or sweeping the grand dining room with a single blade of straw. Success, however, could earn you a fitting reward
Your journey through Strokestown Park will also highlight significant stories from the museum’s archives, including the ill-fated emigration scheme devised by John Ross Mahon and Denis Mahon, and the subsequent assassination of Denis Mahon.

In Time combines elements of an escape room, a quest, and immersive theatre. You and your group will work together with the actors, exploring the historic estate as you solve clues and complete your assigned tasks.
Each character you’ll encounter has a unique list of tasks related to the daily life and challenges of the Great Famine era. Carefully consider which characters you’ll want to help or hinder, as each choice can impact your experience.
Characters and their stories unfold in real-time, providing a dynamic and engaging experience. To fully immerse yourself, spend as much time as possible with each character, learning about their lives and the historical context they represent.
“In Time” is a site-specific promenade show, allowing you to walk around the grounds while solving tasks. You will have one hour to complete your chosen task list, experiencing the estate as it was.
