You’ll also have access to our museums , which include the National Famine Museum and the Irish Agricultural Museum.

How Your Membership Helps the Irish Heritage Trust

By becoming a member of the Irish Heritage Trust, you are joining a community of people who share our passion for preserving the fabric of the properties we care for, along with the unique histories held within them.

Member fees assist with meeting the ongoing costs of caring for historic estates, and they also support access to their stories and collections through museums, exhibitions, and archives open to the public and scholars of Irish heritage.

Fascinating history of the Great Famine

This was our first stop in Ireland and gave us a reality check on the tragedy of the famine in Irish history. Very well presented self-guided tour. Also a very nice cafe for a hearty lunch. Well worth the visit.

Lovely Day Out

Would really recommend a trip here – so many different aspects to the experience. There’s the tour of the house, the famine museum and a woodland walk. The walled gardens are also beautiful. The cafe is fabulous with lovely food.

Well Worth a Visit

We visited the museum first which helped me better understand the history and complexities of the famine. The tour of the house built in the 1840s was like stepping back in time to get a feel for how the upper class lived. If you like history you will enjoy the visit.
