The Irish Heritage Trust ‘Autumn Garden Fête’

Join us at our Autumn Fête on Sunday October 6th from 12pm to 5pm, where age becomes irrelevant and intergenerational bonds are formed amidst our shared heritage.
Events Programme:
12pm: Autumn in The Garden Tour with General Manager John O’Driscoll

1pm: Autumnal Ecotherapy Walk with Marianne Fallon [Chartered Health Psychologist and Ecotherapist]

Join Marianne, for another Woodland Wellbeing Walk during our Autumn Fête.
Marianne will guide you through a number of meditations amongst the trees reflecting on themes inspired by this liminal time between the Autumn Equinox and Samhain. This is a time of letting go after the gathering of the Harvest during Lughnasa.
An introduction to Dan Tian Meditation & Breathwork and reflections from Buddhist Psychology will form part of the walk.
Be prepared to be on your feet walking or standing for approx one hour. Wear clothing suitable for the expected weather and good walking shoes with good grips.
1pm – 3pm: Live Music with Black Bank Folk, Venue Vaulted Stables Courtyard.
The band bring together a plethora of musical influences from Indie rock and Americana to Irish folk and traditional. Something for all tastes!
3pm: Strokestown House Gallery Kitchen Interpretation Tour with General Manager John O’Driscoll

Scarecrow Making – Walled Garden’s
Join our volunteers in the Walled Garden’s to Make & Name A Scarecrow, who will call our Garden its home for the Autumn. This is a drop in activity that will run throughout the day. A great activity for the whole family!
Family Scavenger Hunt – Woodland & Walled Garden’s
Pick up a map from our Visitor Reception and complete our intergenerational family scavenger hunt.
Sundew Crafts – Vaulted Stables
Fiona O’Driscoll of Sundew Crafts will be facilitating drop in workshops for all ages between 1pm to 4pm
