Samhain Self Guided Trail 2026

Join us for our “Samhain Self Guided Trail”, to discover the traditions and customs of Oíche Shamhna / Halloween.
Gather eerie clues along the way to receive a spookalicious treat.
The Celtic people celebrated the festival called Samhain (“SAH-win”) on the 31st of October. During this festival, the Celts believed that the veil between this world and the otherworld was at its thinnest, and this could allow spirits to cross into our world.
Families will be provided with a trail map and activity sheet on arrival.
This will guide you through the ancient Serpentine Woodlands at Strokestown Park to gather clues and enjoy fun traditional Samhain activities.
When you have collected all the clues bring them to our Visitor Centre reception to collect a spookalicious treat .
Suitable for children aged 2yrs +.
Ticket’s €10.00 per child, Adults & Infants Complimentary. (Irish Heritage Trust Member Discount Available, membership card must be shown on arrival.)
